Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple News: "Walk for Rice" Charity Event on June 29, 2024
The Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) held the "Walk for Rice" charity event on June 29, 2024, at Seward Park in Seattle. The Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple passionately participates in this event every year. Early in the morning, Abbot Lianyin led the congregation to drive to the park and join the charitable activity.
The weather was sunny and pleasant that day, and the park was bustling with people. The organizers arranged performances by honor guards and warm-up exercises led by professional instructors, energizing everyone for the walk around the lake. As participants walked along the lakeside, they enjoyed the shimmering water and scenic views, making the charitable endeavor both fulfilling and delightful.
Notably, Elder Lianhua Changren from Hong Kong led more than ten fellow members of the Ten Directions Study Group to enthusiastically participate. Masters Lianhe, Lianjia, Lianyi, Lianyang, Lianjin, and several other Dharma masters and fellow members also supported the temple's participation in the charity event.
This year's "Walk for Rice" fundraising event saw the Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple raising the highest amount of donations. The organizers presented flowers to express their gratitude, and Abbot Shih Lianyin received the recognition on behalf of the temple. The temple has always upheld the teachings of their Root Guru, embracing compassion to help people regardless of race or ethnicity. Their loving-kindness benefits all beings. Special thanks go to all the generous donors, whose contributions and love will aid those in need. The merits of such deeds are boundless!
