Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple Participates in the 'Walk for Rice' Charity Event
[Seattle LSCTT Report]
On June 28, 2025, the Abbess of Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple, Master Lianyin, together with Master Lianhua Bizhen and many fellow disciples, participated in the "Walk for Rice" charity event at Seward Park in Seattle.
Organized annually by the Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) to raise funds for its food bank, the Walk for Rice campaign has become a yearly act of compassion supported by Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple. The temple actively calls on kind-hearted supporters from all directions to donate generously, helping alleviate the hardship of those in need.
The weather on the day of the event was clear and refreshing, with warm, gentle sunshine. The park was filled with laughter and festive cheer. ACRS thoughtfully arranged ceremonial performances and invited a professional instructor to lead participants in warm-up exercises in preparation for the lakeside walk.
Amid the powerful and majestic rhythm of the taiko drum team, the walk began along the scenic lake trail. The water shimmered with golden light under the sun on one side, while the other side was lined with lush trees providing cool shade. The air was rich with phytoncides, creating a perfect blend of fitness, charity, and harmony with nature.
Each year, participants joyfully contribute to the Walk for Rice campaign. This year, Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple raised the highest donation amount among all group participants. The organizers presented a bouquet of flowers in recognition of the achievement, which was received on stage by Abbess Master Lianyin on behalf of the Founding Temple.
The Founding Temple continues to uphold the teachings of Root Guru Living Buddha Lian Sheng, promoting compassion, selfless service, and universal benevolence beyond race or ethnicity. With heartfelt gratitude, we thank all generous donors. Every offering you make brings light to others’ lives and becomes a powerful force in aiding sentient beings. Boundless merit!
