Temple's Request for Teachings Led to Wrathful Guru Rinpoche’s Manifestation of His Great Power

On the evening of Saturday, August 17, 2024, TBS Seattle Temple held a ceremony to request teachings from His Holiness Living Buddha Lian Sheng (1). The temple respectfully invited the Root Lineage Guru to transmit the rare and profound practice of the wrathful Guru Dorje Drolo for the first time at the upcoming Grand Autumn Ceremony on August 31. The greater Seattle region hadn’t received any heavy rainfall in recent months. The afternoon weather was clear and sunny; even till group practice which began at 8:00 PM, there were no signs of rain. Surprisingly, just before the request for teachings at 9:00 PM, a rare thunderstorm with lightning, high winds, and torrential rain—something Seattle had not seen in years—suddenly erupted. The storm only gradually subsided after the ceremony ended (2). Grandmaster Lu said that this unusual weather phenomenon was a remarkable response to the powerful blessing of the wrathful Guru, manifesting the incredible might of the deity that Living Buddha Lian Sheng will soon transmit at the Grand Autumn Ceremony. During his Saturday discourse that night, Living Buddha Lian Sheng, Grand Master Lu, mentioned that practicing the Wrathful Guru Dorje Drolo can subdue the Four Maras. Once you have yogic response with Dorje Drolo practice, two types of powers will manifest, allowing the practitioner to transform into a rainbow light body and attain the great power of transcending birth and death. This practice enables both worldly and spiritual accomplishments, granting the ability to achieve one's desires and fulfill one's wishes. Everyone is welcome to participate in the Autumn Grand Ceremony and register as the primary supplicant to receive the extraordinary blessings and merits of the transmitted deity Dorje Drolo!
[Postscript: During dinner after the Homa Ceremony on the following day, Living Buddha Lian Sheng told the crowd in the dining room that he left out another point about Guru Dorje Drolo during his dharma talk last night, "by having yogic response with Guru Dorje Drolo, one can also cultivate an illusory body and manifest countless emanations." ]
