Guru Dorje Drollo’s Heart Mantra

Hum Hum Hum。Om Ah Hum。Wa Ji La。Gu Lu。Dro Lo。Lo Ga。Sar Wa。Si Dhi Hum Hum。

Living Buddha Grandmaster Lu chants Dorje Drollo's heart mantra

Dharma Ceremony Rituals / Main Mantra

During his recent Saturday discourses, Living Buddha Lian Sheng, Grand Master Lu, mentioned that practicing the Wrathful Guru Dorje Drolo can subdue the Four Maras. Once you have yogic response with Dorje Drolo practice, two types of powers will manifest, allowing the practitioner to transform into a rainbow light body and attain the great power of transcending birth and death. This practice enables both worldly and spiritual accomplishments, granting the ability to achieve one's desires and fulfill one's wishes. In later discourse, Living Buddha Lian Sheng told the crowd that "by having yogic response with Guru Dorje Drolo, one can also cultivate an illusory body and manifest countless emanations."

Ceremony Announcements
[No Lunch/Dinner Provided Onsite for the Saturday Ceremony]

For the 2024 Autumn Grand Ceremony on August 31st, to be held at the Lynnwood Event Center, it is required that no outside food be brought into the venue. Due to the limited quantity and timing of the provided meal boxes, and the difficulty in managing this, coupled with the fact that the Grand Master will arrive at the venue after lunch, the organizers recommend that fellow participants have their meals in other locations before arriving at the venue. This is to avoid long queues at nearby restaurants, which might delay entry to the ceremony.

For the monastic community supporting the ceremony on that day, please note that due to the inability to arrange meals at the ceremony site, Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple has converted the meal offerings for the monastic community into an external dining allowance, included in the offerings for supporting the ceremony on that day. This allowance can be collected during check-in. We hope that all masters, senior reverends, and reverends will find it more convenient and comfortable to dine outside on the day of the ceremony. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Please note:
  1. LSCTT will be closed on Aug. 31 & Sep. 1 (Sat. and Sun.). As all culinary personnel will be away or working outside the temple, meals will not be provided at LSCTT dining hall during these two days. We apologize for any inconvenience. Your understanding is much appreciated.
  2. The Grand Autumn Ceremony features the bestowing rituals of wedding blessings, lay Bodhisattva precepts, and Ordination. To register, please call us or visit our website. Lay Bodhisattva precepts registrations are processed by LSCTT and may be completed online. For Ordination applications, please contact the respective True Buddha School Vajrayana Association in each country, or the TBF Seattle office (Phone: 425-885-7573).
  3. Due to temple’s limited space, please do not mail or deliver printed scriptures to LSCTT without prior approval. We appreciate your cooperation.

Venue Overview and Regulations
  1. The Event Center does not allow "outside food and beverages" to be brought in, such as packaged drinks, takeout, or homemade food, to avoid making the venue dirty or messy. If people are found eating or drinking outside food, it may make it difficult for the organizers to rent the venue in the future, so everyone must exercise self-discipline. There are water dispensers in the venue with paper cups available for free. You can bring your own bottled water, thermos, or water bottle. Additionally, there is a snack bar at the entrance of the 1F main door, selling coffee, tea, bottled water, and snacks like cookies and chips for your convenience.
  2. Please maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the venue. After using a booth, the staff must remember to restore it to its original state to avoid causing trouble for the organizers during cleanup and to prevent potential fines.
  3. The registration and distribution of English translators for the day will be handled by Sister Summer Huang. There are nearly 200 wireless translators available. Those in need can borrow one at the 1F booth with an ID deposit.
  4. The seating area for wheelchair users or people with mobility issues is located in the priority seating area behind the main seating on the 2F. It is recommended to enter through the 2F main entrance from the rear parking lot, where an elevator is available for moving between floors.
  5. On the day of the event, except for the photography team of the organizers and authorized photographers from within TBS, others are not allowed to follow and take photos of Grandmaster Lu along the way, to avoid obstructing movement and the best camera angles. (Security personnel will assist)
  6. Pets and animals are not allowed to enter the venue.

Empowerment Route and Order
  1. The empowerment-banners stand is located next to the venue's altar/main stage. Facing the altar/main stage, attendees proceed clockwise from the left-hand side to the right-hand side, pass under the empowerment-banners stand, exit through the door on the right-hand side, then follow the guidance down the stairs to 1F, and finally leave the building through the door next to the stairs on 1F (main entrance/exit by the streets). For those driving to the venue, they can walk back to the parking lot from here.
  2. Order of empowerment on the second floor (2F / main stage): VIP seats and priority/wheel chair areas receive empowerment first, followed by Zone 2, Zone 4, Zone 3, and Zone 5.
  3. For those on the first floor (1F), please wait for the signal before proceeding. After the signal, fellow members should line up along the stairs next to the "Master's Resting Room" to enter 2F venue for empowerment.

Location & Transportation
Info on traveling between SEATAC Airport, LSCTT Seattle Temple, Lynnwood Event Center, Rainbow Temple and other places
  • TBS Seattle Temple (Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple) is about a 30-minute drive to the Grand Ceremony veunue at the Lynnwood Event Center. It’s about a 40-minute drive from the Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple to the Rainbow Temple.
  • The closest major landmark to the Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple in Seattle is the Microsoft headquarters in Redmond. From the Microsoft headquarters, it takes about 20 minutes to walk downhill toward Lake Sammamish to reach the TBS Seattle Temple (LSCTT).
  • Starting from August 31, 2024, the Link Light Rail 1 Line in the Greater Seattle area will operate from the airport light rail station to the light rail station in Lynnwood. The distance from the Lynnwood light rail station to the Lynnwood Event Center, where the ceremony is held, is only 1 mile. It takes less than 5 minutes to drive there (or a 25-minute walk).
  • By the summer of 2025, the Link Light Rail 1 Line and 2 Line will be connected, allowing direct access from the airport to the Redmond Technology Station, which is close to the Seattle Temple (LSCTT) and Microsoft. Then, it’s a 25-minute downhill walk to the Seattle Temple. Currently, Link Light Rail 2 LINE only runs from the Redmond Technology Station near LSCTT to downtown South Bellevue and is not yet connected to 1 Line, so it cannot be used to transfer to downtown Seattle and the airport. However, it is convenient for getting from LSCTT to downtown Bellevue or visiting several shopping centers and art museums in Bellevue. You can easily take the light rail by walking to the nearest station, the Redmond Technology Station.
  • The Metro Bus Route 249 serves as the bus line to LSCTTemple. The nearest bus stop to LSCTTemple is located at the intersection of 40th NE Street and Bel-Red Road. It’s just a 2-minute downhill walk to reach LSCTTemple. Be mindful of which bus stop you use, as buses on opposite sides head in opposite directions. Make sure not to board the wrong one, or you will end up going farther away from your destination!
  • In the Greater Seattle area, if you plan to transfer between the light rail and buses, consider the weight and number of your luggage, as carrying luggage up and down the stairs can be strenuous and time-consuming. However, for those with little luggage, it’s a cost-effective option, with each trip costing only $3.50.
  • Public transportation is very convenient in the Greater Seattle area, but it's best to purchase an ORCA card (which costs $5 and is reloadable). Using this card to tap in and out of buses and trains is much more convenient than paying with cash (as bus drivers do not give change). There are machines for reloading and purchasing ORCA cards at the airport light rail station, and they are also sold at many supermarkets (such as Safeway and QFC; please check online for locations).
  • In Washington State, individuals under the age of 18 can ride public transportation for free (ferry and monorail rides still require payment). Remember to carry a passport or a photo ID.
  • After arriving at SeaTac Airport and collecting your luggage, you can walk to a designated area in the lobby where you can get a Seattle map and travel information. If you have any questions, you can ask the airport volunteers, who provide explanatory services.
  • Due to its relatively remote location in the mountains, the Rainbow Temple is only accessible directly from LSCTTemple Temple or the airport by Uber or a taxi, which can cost over a hundred dollars (plus tips). Alternatively, you can rent a car or ask a friend for a ride. Another option is to take the bus from LSCTTemple Temple to North Bend Downtown, the closest town to Rainbow Temple (which requires transferring between two buses and takes about 1.5 hours). From there, you can either get picked up or call an Uber (a 10-minute drive). Please note that buses in less populated areas mainly operate before 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., with reduced or no service on weekends. (Rainbow Temple address: 14310 476th AVE SE, North Bend, WA 98045-7931, U.S.A. TEL: 425-888-3677)
  • Example Route #1: From SeaTac Airport to the Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple (Seattle Temple): Approximately 21 miles, about a 40-minute drive (traffic can cause delays). The fastest public transportation option involves taking the light rail for 35 minutes, then bus 545 for 25 minutes, walking for 15 minutes, and waiting for about 25 minutes, totaling around 1.5 hours. Cost: Light Rail $3.50 + Bus $3.50 = $7. How to travel: Walk to the SEATAC-Lightrail Station at the airport and take the light rail (operational from 5 a.m. to 12 a.m.) to University St at Westlake. Then walk to bus stop 3A at 4th St & University St and take Bus ST-545 (operational from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.) and get off at Redmond (SR 520 & NE 40th St Station 6). Walk downhill along NE 40th St towards Lake Sammamish for about 20 minutes, and you will see the Seattle Temple on your left (Address: 17012 NE 40th Court, Redmond, WA, USA. TEL: 425-882-0916). For the return trip, take bus 545 and get off at bus stop 3B at 4th St & University St, then take the light rail back to the airport.
